Personal Security Psychology

The Study of Protective Behaviour. This course discusses the essential skills that will help to prevent physical violence taking place. With increased awareness and understanding of the nature of aggression this is a powerful precursor to any physical intervention training.

Personal Security Psychology
By understanding how to avoid or contain a conflict (as demonstrated in the first module Conflict Management) we can continue to learn how to think in a way that keeps us safe. Be it by learning physical skills to help us if a situation arises or simply by changing our mindset. By increasing our awareness of the interactions we face from day to day we can learn to avoid aggresive confrontations.

This module also covers the repercussions that become apparent if a situation becomes more intense. This course allows you to have the facts before deciding on a course of action, be it physical, verbal or legal.

Knowing the situation is as big an issue as being faced with it and responding accordingly could save your health, life or job.

This module uses real life scenarios as examples to teach the importance of risk assessment and positive response in a safe and relaxed environment to encourage self confidence and pro active decision making skills.
